Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area
One of metro Atlanta's most distinctive landscapes — exposed granite monadnocks, paved trails, and a 30-mile PATH foundation network. Free, open year-round, genuinely unique.
Lithonia sits in eastern DeKalb County along I-20, between downtown Atlanta and Conyers. The area's defining geology is granite — Lithonia (the name itself is from the Greek for “city of stone”) gave the region its quarries and Stone Mountain its building material. Today it's anchored by Stonecrest, the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, and a quick I-20 hop to the closest free-roam VR park east of the city.
