Common questions
Yes — Rockdale County Public Schools (Heritage High, Salem High, Conyers Middle, Rockdale Magnet, Rockdale Career Academy, and the elementary network) regularly book GravityX field trips. We're 5 minutes from most Rockdale schools and the only hybrid-reality field-trip option in the county.
We host all of them. Newton County (Eastside, Newton High, Alcovy, Heard-Mixon, Indian Creek) is about 18 minutes east on I-20. DeKalb (Stephenson, Lithonia HS, MLK Jr. HS, Salem Middle) is 17 minutes west. Henry County (McDonough area) is about 28 minutes via I-20 + I-675. School buses can use our front parking area.
$28 per student, with a minimum of 20 and maximum of 40 students. Each student gets one full free-roam VR session (about 30 minutes of active gameplay) plus 8 simulator rides. One chaperone is complimentary per 10 students; additional chaperones are $15 each. Teachers participate free of charge.
Two hours of structured experience, plus check-in and waiver verification time on either side. Plan for about 2.5 hours on-site total. We can flex the schedule slightly for school buses with rigid pick-up windows.
GravityX staff handles all rotations. Students are split into organized groups so every student gets full free-roam time and full simulator time without idle waiting. Teachers and chaperones can sit, supervise, or join in — your choice. Most teachers tell us they finish a stack of grading.
Every student needs a signed waiver from a parent or guardian before participating. We send waiver forms in advance so they can be collected and verified before your trip date. This avoids check-in delays on the day of your visit.
Yes — VR and immersive technology are direct tie-ins to STEM curricula (physics, computer science, design, careers in immersive media). Rockdale Career Academy has used GravityX as a programmatic exposure venue for tech career pathways. Talk to us if you want a brief STEM-framing intro at the start of your trip.
